Element X is designed for individuals and communities seeking private communication channels, such as families, friends, hobbyist groups, and clubs. Built on the Matrix open standard for real-time communication, this free and open-source application offers fast, secure instant messaging and video calling capabilities.

Options range from a variety of public servers—such as matrix.org—to the creation of personal servers hosted on individual domains. This flexibility sets Element X apart from other real-time communication solutions. Regardless of hosting choices, users retain ownership of their data and control over their conversations.

Seamless Real-Time Communication
The application synchronizes message history across all devices, ensuring that users can stay connected whether they are using a mobile device or accessing the web at <a href="https://app.element.io">https://app.element.io</a>.

Element X: The Next Generation
If you are currently using the original Element app, transitioning to Element X offers advantages in speed, usability, and functionality. The new application is consistently improved with additional features.

The application requires the android.permission.REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES permission to facilitate the installation of applications received as attachments. Additionally, the USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT permission is necessary to ensure effective call notifications even when devices are locked.
